He holds a degree in Economics from UFMG, a doctoral degree in Economic Theory from FEA/USP, and completed postdoctoral research at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is a full professor at the Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture, University of São Paulo (ESALQ/USP), where he teaches Macroeconomic Theory and Agricultural Policies subjects at the undergraduate and graduate levels. In his classes, research, and student advising, he seeks to analyze how economic policies — shaped according to economic models and aimed at achieving the country's overall targets — affect the performance of regions and sectors of the economy.
